Chaos

Lakshana

Chaos is a 5★ unit aligned with the Lakshana element in Neverness to Everness. Without a confirmed arc, role, or tier placement, its standing in the current meta remains open and difficult to define.

A Lakshana DPS built around his Redirect and Ultimate: What's Desired adds Lakshana and Crit DMG, while the farmable A Time Will Come is the F2P pick (wants a three-element team). Prioritise Lakshana DMG > ATK% > Crit; Street Boxer is the recommended cartridge.

Recommended setups from community build guides (~June 2026); not the only viable option.

How Chaos plays

Chaos is a Lakshana main DPS who builds his damage around a Redirect mechanic and a heavy-hitting Ultimate. His tempo revolves around setting up enemies and then unloading: route his rotation through the Ultimate first, follow with his Skill for sustained pressure, and weave Basic Attacks to keep momentum between cooldowns. He thrives when paired with a sub-DPS and dedicated support who can keep him uptime and amplify his Crime output. In a typical squad he sits in the front-line damage slot while teammates like a burst partner and a support handle setup and buffs. Because his strongest awakenings reward attacking marked targets, he wants consistent enemy exposure rather than scattered, single-tap engagements, making him a focused, rotation-driven carry rather than a reactive skirmisher.

Strengths

  • Excellent single-target and focused Lakshana damage built around his Ultimate and Redirect
  • Scales hard with Crit, giving a high ceiling once substats are tuned
  • Flexible arc options spanning signature, premium, and farmable tiers
  • Strong awakening payoffs that reward marked-target play
  • Slots cleanly into multiple team compositions as the primary carry
  • F2P-friendly with a fully farmable arc that still performs well

Weaknesses

  • Heavily Crit-dependent, so early builds with poor substats feel inconsistent
  • Wants specific team support and enemy exposure to maximise his marking damage
  • Rotation-locked tempo punishes sloppy ability sequencing

Chaos build details

Skill priority

Prioritise the Ultimate first, since his entire damage pattern is anchored to it. Level his Skill next for reliable sustained pressure between Ultimate windows, then bring up Basic Attack to keep filler damage and momentum competitive. Invest in the QTE last, as it contributes least to his core rotation and overall Lakshana output.

Stat priority

For main stats, run Lakshana DMG in Slot 1 and either CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG in Slot 2 to suit your needs. For substats, chase CRIT Rate first, then CRIT DMG, followed by general DMG%, and finally ATK%. Lakshana DMG, ATK%, and Crit form the backbone of his scaling.

Modules & cartridge

Run the Street Boxer core set as his best-in-slot cartridge: Type 2 Horizontal, Type 3 Horizontal, Type L Right Inverted, and Type Snake Horizontal. Allocate main stats toward Lakshana DMG on the primary slot and your preferred Crit stat on the secondary, then funnel every substat roll into CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, DMG%, and ATK% in that order.

Awakening nodes

Focus on A1, A5, and A6 as the most impactful nodes. A1 Piercing Insight is the priority pickup, granting an additional 30% Crime when striking enemies that carry Warrant, directly empowering his marked-target damage. Secure A1 first, then round out with A5 and A6.

Investment

Invest steadily to push his Ultimate and Skill ceilings, since both drive his core rotation. Pair leveling with Crit-focused module farming so his scaling keeps pace. Equip the strongest arc you own, prioritising his signature option when available, otherwise the farmable A-rank pick.

Chaos Nova (top meta)

Zero's instant cycle and Hathor feed consistent Remora/Stain triggers while Haniel — paired with Chaos — enables Nova; widely cited as one of the strongest comps at launch.
